LOVE PUT INTO PRACTICE
We have all heard dozens of sermons regarding the noblest subject – LOVE – but how many of us really practice it???
Let’s examine ourselves; what do we do when somebody has hurt us, has offended us unfairly?
What is our immediate reaction?
What do we do when we are despised, rejected and disregarded?
How do we react when we are backbitten?
When somebody asks us help, or even some money, what is our first reaction?
When there are two persons and they speak evil of a third person, who is not there, how do we react?
When our brother, who is more proud, has lost something (money, job, a business), what kind of feelings do we entertain in our hearts?
When even your husband or your wife has hurt you, betrayed you or despised you, what do you think then?
And each of us knows their daily situations which they go through and how to prove love.
Love also means having CHARACTER.
If each of us were full of the Holy Spirit, surely the first fruit that would be developed and shown were LOVE.
What I have seen nowadays in the world is THE LACK OF LOVE.
It is not poverty or war or fights of all kind that are the biggest problem, but the LACK OF AGAPE LOVE, THE LOVE THAT GIVES ITSELF UNCONDITIONALLY.
How can we get hold of it??
This is every person’s responsibility.
Only by seeking TO KNOW CHRIST AND LOVE HIM FIRST, WILL WE BE ABLE TO LOVE EVERYONE AROUND US UNCONDITIONALLY. And this divine love will sacrifice itself JOYFULLY, because it remembers the verse: “DO EVERYTHING AS FOR THE LORD, not as for people…” This is THE SECRET.
If we truly and sincerely love the Lord Jesus, then it will be very easy for us to love those around us, even those who do NOT deserve it. For the latter, you will actually have a special desire to show them the love of Jesus, “to heap burning coals on their head…”
Love is a person, the holiest and the most precious person, and this person lives in us. Let’s allow Him to LOVE through us. But CHOOSE TO DIE, SO THAT HE CAN LOVE THROUGH YOU. And then you will see what a wonderful and totally generous life you will experience, and you will surely make A GREAT DIFFERENCE around you.
LOVE CHANGES THE WORLD.
Let’s be those persons who help change the world, to the glory of God.
WHAT IS TRUE LOVE???
LOVE is THE ABSENCE of evil, selfishness, anger, proud ego, unforgiveness etc. I stayed and meditated on this great treasure, which ALL Christians MUST have. And to my sorrow I learned that we DON’T HAVE IT. Many of us are broke when it comes to love.
We have a natural love that quickly fades away.
How can we be filled with the AGAPE LOVE?
GOD IS LOVE!
He poured out His love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. So once we sincerely repented, God poured out a measure of love in us. But we didn’t allow it to GROW, or we didn’t help it grow, because the Word exhorts us to GROW IN LOVE.
Let’s each of us test ourselves and deeply and earnestly meditate on THE LOVE OF the LORD JESUS AND OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER for us.
Love SACRIFICES itself, without conditions, for Christ and for His cause and for the cause of all humanity.
SACRIFICE means AN OFFERING, something very important which you need to sacrifice for somebody else. The Lord Jesus gave us a parable so that we may follow in His footsteps. All His life was a life of total OBEDIENCE to the Heavenly Father and a life of total devotion, so SACRIFICE out of love. What and how much do we sacrifice???
When we do good to others with love, we will be like Jesus.
“The one who gives joyfully is loved by God”.
The Samaritan stopped in his way, stopped his own pursuit, to help someone who was in great need of help. He left his own affairs, which were no doubt urgent and important, and sacrificed time, money, commitment, mercy and love for a stranger, from whom he expected no reward…
Where is nowadays the spirit of the merciful Samaritan???
God has placed each of us in situations where we can SHOW HIS LOVE. Let’s put it into practice, let’s use it.
If we still don’t have it yet, we have to come at the feet of the Savior in a total surrender, repentance, brokenness and ask Him to clean us from a cold, selfish and careless heart and give us a heart of flesh that will love Him and do His will.
We need a baptism of DIVINE LOVE, which sacrifices anything and sacrifices itself anytime and anywhere for the sake of the Lord and of the suffering world, which need help of any kind. Now let us examine ourselves in the light of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, and let us put our names instead of the word love.
I (Rodica) AM LONGSUFFERING.
I AM KIND.
I DO NOT ENVY.
I DO NOT BOAST.
I AM NOT PROUD.
I DO NOT DISHONOR OTHERS.
I AM NOT SELF-SEEKING.
I AM NOT EASILY ANGERED.
I KEEP NO RECORD OF WRONGS.
I DO NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL.
I REJOICE IN THE TRUTH.
I BEAR ALL THINGS.
I BELIEVE ALL THINGS.
I HOPE ALL THINGS.
I ENDURE ALL THINGS.
LOVE IN ME WILL NEVER FAIL…
SO MAY THE LOVE OF GOD HELP US!
